KCS 2018-19 Season Subscription
This year's three full-choir concert programs promise to surprise, delight, and move you:
Dec. 1 & 2: Glorious Echoes, featuring Cantata four of the Bach Christmas Oratorio, along with beautiful holiday favorites. Highlights in addition to the music: > Again joined by our partner orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest > Outstanding soloists: Stephen Rumph, tenor, and Charles Robert Stephens, bass-baritone > The magic of Bastyr Chapel during the holidays No wonder this concert has become such a wonderful family tradition for so many!
Feb. 23 & 24, 2019: Carmina Burana: celebrating love, fate, music, and good times! > Featuring, in addition: Canticles of Crimson, the world premiere of a five-part musical work, by renowned Seattle composer Donald Skirvin. > Top soloists: Tess Altiveros, soprano; Keith Harris (who sings with NYC's Metropolitan Opera), baritone; and, José Luis Muñoz, counter-tenor > Set in Bastyr Chapel, whose superb accoustics match the power and emotion of the music. > Plus, accompanied by complimentary matched pairings of wine & chocolate. This promises to be a memorable event, both fun and moving; not to be missed!
Saturday, April 20, 2019: Haydn's Creation: a multi-media experience of Haydn's crowning masterpiece in conjunction with Earth Day and the Listen to the Earth project > Performed with our partner orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest, with Julia Tai conducting > Again joined by top soloists > At Benaroya Hall, a perfect accoustical and visual setting for this glorious music in full choral-orchestral power, as part of a multi-media experience. This promises to be a stirring and stunning cap to a wonderful 30th anniversary season!
