Scott Ainslie and Mary Flower
Friends from different coasts, Mary Flower and Scott Ainslie will be together for an evening of some of the
finest acoustic blues, ragtime, delta, and slide guitar playing available.
Flower will be familiar to Portland music fans and is known for her fine musicianship, her skill as a guitarist, and her warm vocals. She is a fine songwriter and arranger, as well.
Ainslie transcribed all of Delta Blues legend Robert Johnsons songs and published a book of them (Robert Johnson/At the Crossroads, Hal Leonard 1992) and has a reputation for singing the music as well as he plays it. His repertoire always includes some originals and other roots blues performers, too.
Together, these two will deliver some of the finest blues singing; ragtime, delta, and slide guitar playing available today. Two sets by two great musicians. This is not to be missed. Seating is limited. Doors open at 7:30 pm.
