QUICKSILVER at Edinburgh FC / EFC
Hilary Spencer and Grant Baynham are QuickSilver. For 20 years Hilary was the lead singer with internationally acclaimed acappella trio Artisan and Grant is a wonderful songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire. They had known each other on the folk scene for several years before they came together in 2002 when Grant stepped in gallantly to save the launch concert of Hilary's second solo album "Afterimage" when at four days' notice her guitarist had to pull out. The result was sensational and resulted in a partnership made in musical heaven.
Hilary says: "After four years on BBC1s Thats Life!" Grant Baynham became a household name. He is a formidable songwriter and has an energy and enthusiasm which create a high-powered performance of material from virtually every genre you can imagine. Hes also one of the funniest people I have ever met. Is it possible to be formidable and hilarious at the same time? With Grant anything is possible!
Grant says: "Hilary has one of the most staggering voices in British acoustic music. Most folk fans will know it well from her work with top trio Artisan. If you havent yet heard her live, then the CDs will be, firstly, a quite-possibly-life-changing treat and, secondly, a demonstration of her breath-taking range of tone and mood. And now I get to play and write for her. Yahoo!"
QuickSilver's rapport with audiences is legendary. They just love to entertain and their combination of infectious fun, quirky humour, sharply observed songs, sparkling guitar and scintillating vocals make the QuickSilver experience truly unique.
