We invite you to an evening of classical music with some of the Valley's finest string musicians while exploring Germany's string quartet tradition with our "Listening Guide."
Dress casually and bring an appetite ready to learn, explore, eat and drink with an evening of MUSICAL EXPLORATION. Our "Listening Guide" will make you think, feel, and laugh with music of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms. You can relax and enjoy classical music while getting a historical context and tips on things to listen for.
The program consists of approximately 45 minutes of music with breaks between musical works for dialogue between the "Listening Guide," musicians, and YOU, the audience.
Program: Haydn: String Quartet No. 30 in E-flat Major ("The Joke") Movement 1 and 4
Mozart: String Quartet No. 19 in C Major ("Dissonance") Movement 1
Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik Movement 1 and 2
Beethoven: String Quartet No. 16 in F Major Movement 3
Brahms: String Quartet No. 1 in C Minor Movement 4
