October 14, 2018 Philharmonic Orchestra Concert
Featuring works by Gershwin, Ravel, Desmond, and Beethoven, "Defining Rhythms!" showcases works that demonstrate the power of music. Concertmaster Jonathan Johnson performs with the orchestra Maurice Ravel's "Tzigane: Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra," and alumni of the Philharmonic's Strings & Jazzy Things summer music camp join the orchestra in Paul Desmond's jazzy "Take Five." The program begins with George Gershwin's rousing "Cuban Overture" and ends with Ludwig van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Opus 92."
