Stop The Rain
top The Rain formed in December 2015 and quickly recorded their debut EP 'Save My Life'. After releasing it in January 2016, saxophonist Chris Blair left the band. The lineup changed, and saw the entrance of bassist Sam Flood, which then lead to a complete stylistic re-brand from blues/rock music to the alternative rock the five piece play today.

The band's new alternative rock sound is accompanied by heart felt lyrics and tight harmonies resulting in successes such as ranking high in national competitions, press and blog coverage as well as radio play (including BBC, and Amazing Radio).

In October of 2016 the band released their first single with the new line up entitled 'Home Is Where My Heart Is' through their record label at the time, Eighty - Eight Records. The single was recorded at The Depot Studios with Mark Morrow. The song received rave reviews and tens of thousands of plays online. Shortly after, the band brought in a new member; keys player Ben Muir, to add to their sound.

The band released another 2 singles entitled 'Skylight' and 'Ghosts' in the lead up to their first EP with the alternative rock sound, 'Sinking' which was released on the 15th of September 2017. The EP was recorded and produced by Mark Morrow between the end of 2016 and Spring 2017 and includes four tracks. These are 'Your Head's A Prison', 'Cut The Cord', 'Side Effect' and title track 'Sinking'. As well as featuring regularly on Jim Gellatly's 'Amazing Radio' shows, the EP also received BBC Nan Gaidheal album of the week.

The band have played gigs all over Scotland in venues such as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, the O2 ABC and Tunnels.

In January 2018, Sam Steele, one of the two lead vocalist and guitar players left the band to go on to study at Berklee Collge of Music in America. This move resulted in the band introducing yet another new member; Lead guitar player Leonard Crainie. Despite the line-up change, the band are set to record more new music at the start of 2018 with producer Bruce Rintoul.
