ASME STS - Thursday, September 20th, 2018 - "Subsea Remote Operated Vehicles"
Sales Manager, Saab Seaeye
As Offshore Oil & Gas continues to move into deeper water in locations where logistics and support costs continue to increase there is a very strong business case to place the production hardware directly on the seafloor. Statoil (now Equinor) has been promoting the Seafloor Factory of the Future concept for a number of years and has already placed major assets on the seafloor. This presentation will focus on the current state of the art of Saab Seaeye line of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and also the new development of a Seafloor based Autonomous Underwater Vehicle system called Sabertooth. The Seafloor Factory of the Future will need an attendant and Sabertooth is ready to take on that job.
Chris Roper is Saab Seaeye Ltd.s North American Sales Manager. Prior to joining Saab, Chris managed his own company, Roper Resources Ltd. For over 30 years Chris has been involved in technical sales, onsite installation and at sea training across a wide selection of ROVs, AUVs, tools and sensors systems.
