Filmmgoers at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will unite with over 100,000 film-lovers around the world during the the 21st Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival.

You Be the Judge!

Come and view 9 engrossing short films from around the world at the Manhattan Short Film Festival. Many past shorts have been considered for Academy Awards; one has even won that coveted prize. But this isn't entirely a passive viewing, as you will vote for your favorite short and actor.

Advance tickets are HIGHLY advisable, as some showtimes sell out. While we will sell tickets at the door if they are available, we recommend you get your preferred tickets early, as this is one hot ticket for the weekend.

Plan to spend 2-1/2 hours with us, as there is an intermission at the 1-hour mark, with light appetizers provided. Beer & wine are available for purchase, and we can now take our beverages into the auditorium to sip as we view the show.

And remember, YOU BE THE JUDGE! You will be given a brochure and voting card so you can vote for your favorite actor and favorite film. Winning filmmakers receive cash and/or filmmaking accessories to further her/his talent.

This year we have 9 MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hailing from 8 countries. These Final 9 shorts represent the best short films from among the 1565 entries from 73 countries received this year for consideration - a testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films. This year's Final 9 represent intimate dramas, comedy, fast-paced animation, spine-tingling tales, a WWII epic, and a film shot entirely underwater.

The Final 9 Films are:
BAGHEAD (United Kingdom), FIRE IN CARDBOARD CITY (New Zealand), HOME SHOPPER (USA), HER (Kosovo), TWO STRANGERS WHO MEET FIVE TIMES (United Kingdom), SOMEONE (Germany), CHUCHOTAGE (Hungary), FAUVE (Canada), and LACRIMOSA (Austria).
