House Concert with Ian Fitzgerald & Rachel Sumner @SIGNoftheWAGON
It's been a couple years since Ian performed at Sign of the Wagon. We're excited to welcome him back with Rachel Sumner, a member of bluegrass band, Twisted Pine, touring in support of her first solo EP. They'll be playing solo sets and some duets as well.

Ian Fitzgerald is a folk singer and songwriter. Based in New England, Ian has toured solo up and down the east coast and through the midwest. Ian has independently released four albums of original material and has become known for his storytelling and skillful use of language. In their review of his latest album, No Time To Be Tender [;;2013];;, Performer Magazine called Ian "a polished songsmith who is high atop a field of great artists breaking through to festival and folk concerts throughout the States."
Ian has opened shows for Mark Erelli; Joe Fletcher; Tall Tall Trees; Tracy Grammer; Ark Life; and Freedy Johnston, among others, and has shared bills with the likes of Haunt The House; Christopher Paul Stelling; Ron Gallo; and Jonah Tolchin. Ian has also performed at a number of festivals and notable venues including: All Newport's Eve (the official kickoff show for the 2014 Newport Folk Festival); NXNE; the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase; the Brown University Folk Festival; the In The Dead of Winter Festival; the Columbus Theatre; World Showcase Live at the Queen; Club Passim; and Infinity Music Hall. This summer, Ian will perform at the 2015 Newport Folk Festival.

Rachel Sumner is an award winning singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Red Line Roots describes her as, "a modern day queen of bluegrass fusion and emotive roots writing."
Sharing front-woman duties, Rachel writes and performs with roots-pop band Twisted Pine, who just released their eponymous album in 2017 on Signature Sounds Recordings.
Rachel is a frequent collaborator with local musicians. With her musical partner Sam Moss and Michael Siegel, she formed Sumner & Moss, a group rooted in traditional American musics weaving close harmonies into classic country songs alongside their own roots-inspired originals.
