LA Explorers Club 'Power to the Peaceful' Bike Ride
We are excited to bring the LA Explorers Club back for our first ride in over a year on Sunday, September 9th.  The Power to the Peaceful ride shares inspirational stories about individuals and community groups of the past that took a stand to protect and preserve the neighborhoods, civil rights and the natural environment that make up the framework of Los Angeles today.   As Angelenos, we enjoy the freedoms, city parks, and diverse neighborhood cultures because of the efforts of many that came before us.  Exploring these stories will hopefully inspire us to not to be complacent as community members but to stay engaged and active in the continuing development of our city.  We know there are many people and places worth mentioning, and we hope to make this a reoccurring ride series.  To start, we will focus on the Echo Park and Silverlake neighborhoods, which does involve some hill riding, so keep that in mind when you consider this ride.

10:30-11:30am:  The ride registration begins at 33 Taps on Sunset Blvd. at Lucille (next door to Golden Saddle Cyclery) in Silverlake.  Arrive early for brunch and a cold beer compliments of New Belgium Brewing.

12pm:  15 mile ride departs

3:30pm: Ride ends at The Semi-Tropic on Glendale.  Hang out, cool down with a cold beer from New Belgium Brewing, and share ride stories with your new friends.

Things to Know:  It is a one way ride, so please plan your day accordingly.  Intermediate ride that includes hills.  Geared bike recommended.  Ride at your own risk.

What to Bring:  Pack a bike lock, water and snacks, and your I.D. Double check your bike is in good working order.

Parking:  If you need to drive to the ride, there is free neighborhood parking available.  Get there a little early to have time to unload and register.

No refunds for no shows.  Not responsible for lost items.
