All performances include a 7pm pre-concert talk with the composers and music director, as well as a post-concert reception.
A new work by Boston favorite David Rakowski and the brilliant High Wire Act by Laura Schwendinger lie at the heart of CNMs second program. While Davids music is familiar to our audience, Lauras has not been heard here in more than twenty years, and compositions by Hannah Lash, Benjamin Park (Collages 18-19 Fellow), and Sean Shepherd bring new voices to Collages concerts. The excursion from Hannahs freshly viewed minimalism, through Seans sensuous Lumens, to Davids witty wisdom is a brilliant one.
