Noteworthy: The Emerson String Quartet has amassed an unparalleled list of achievements over four decades: more than thirty acclaimed recordings, nine Grammys® (including two for Best Classical Album), three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, Musical Americas Ensemble of the Year and collaborations with many of the greatest artists of our time.

Cellist Paul Watkins, who joined the quartet in 2013, is the only new member in the 42 year history of the Emerson String Quartet..
This is the Emerson Quartet's fifth Ensemble Music Society appearance. They first appeared on our series in 1983. Other appearances were in 1991,1996, and, most recently, in 2001. Their most recent concert in Central Indiana was in 2011.
