Focal Point Friends of Old-time Music Presents: The John Hartford Trio with special guest Jim Nelson
To celebrate the release of a brand new-book, John Hartfords Mammoth Collection of Fiddle Tunes, his family and former bandmates are hosting a tribute show on September 6th, 7pm at The Focal Point, 2720 Sutton Blvd, Maplewood. This show will feature the songs of John Hartford, as performed by Matt Combs, Mike Compton, and Jim Nelson, along with a short presentation of the book by Johns daughter, Katie Harford Hogue. St. Louis-based cartoonist Dan Martin, personal friend of Hartfords, illustrated the cover of the book and will also be on hand for the presentation. Left Bank Books will sponsor a signing at the venue, and will have books available for sale.
