B-A-C-H Prisms- Lexington
Sarasa opens its 20th Anniversary Season with a performance of Bachs monumental Art of Fugue, which he was working on towards the end of his life and never completed. Its 15 canons and 4 fugues, all based on a single musical idea, are a reflection of meticulous craftsmanship and brilliant technique in counterpoint. Our program is interspersed with short waves of light by 20th-century composers, which bounce off the prism cast by Bach in his final and enduring work, one of combined simplicity and complexity.
Rodolfo Richter, Rebecca Huber, violins; Jenny Stirling, viola; Jennifer Morsches, cello
