Toni Marie Palmertree in Concert
Join us for a special performance by soprano Toni Marie Palmertree and pianist Caleb Flick. Their cabaret program features music by Benjamin Britten, Kurt Weill, William Bolcom, Cole Porter and more.
Toni Marie Palmertree is an American soprano who receives great acclaim from audiences and critics for her captivating performances. This past fall she was called to step into the title role of Madama Butterfly for the November 18th 2016 performance at San Francisco Opera. Janos Gereben from San Francisco Classical Voice wrote: The young soprano not only met the challenge, but she claimed her place among the finest vocal interpreters of the role heard here recently.
This season, Ms. Palmertree is delighted to present her role debut as Liù in Turandot with San Francisco Opera. Additional engagements at San Francisco Opera include covering Violetta in La traviata and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. In February 2017 she debuted the roles of Giorgetta in Il Tabarro and the title role in Suor Angelica in West Bay Operas production of Il trittico.
Previous roles include High Priestess in Aida , Voice of Heaven in Don Carlo , Barena in Jenufa, Elisabetta in Don Carlo (cover), Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Alison in Wandering Scholar, and Mimi in La boheme.
Ms. Palmertree is proud to hold many awards including the Richard F. Gold Career Grant by the Shoshana Foundation, winner of The Metropolitan Opera National Council District Awards (Pittsburg), Finalist in The International Moniuszko Voice Competion, and The Classical Singer Voice competition. She took first place in the Long Leaf Opera of North Carolina voice competition, The Kennett Square Symphony Voice Competition, and The Marcella Sembrich competition. She was awarded third place in the National Opera Association Voice Competition, the James Parkinson Opera Competition and the second place winner of the Sylvia Green Voice Competition. From The Peabody Conservatory, she was granted The Anita Erdman award.
