Mama Tried
Mama Tried showcases the stellar talents of Dede Wyland and Randy Barrett, two of Washington, D.C.'s best bluegrass singers, and winners of multiple Washington Area Music Awards. Ms. Wyland is well known for her crystalline delivery and her pioneering work with the groups Tony Trischka and Skyline and Food Grass and Lodging. Mr. Barrett is a multiple WAMMIE winner and award winning songwriter. Mr. Barrett and Ms. Wyland's musical partnership goes back a decade. They recognized early on that their voices had a naturally rare blend and they are well known for their powerful duet singing. Ms. Wyland appears on two of Mr. Barrett's albums, Each & Every Day and Lights of Home.
Mama Tried appears regularly in the Washington, D.C. area and delivers a memorable mix of progressive bluegrass.
