Canzona Women's Ensemble: Raising Our Voices Concert
Our spring concert has at its centerpiece the co-commissioned piece My People are Rising set to a poem by Syrian-American poet Mohja Kahf about the conflict in Syria. The concert will be balanced with other pieces expressing resilience, including Chapo Pou Fanm (Hats Off to Women), A Blessing of Cranes and Rise Up. This uplifting concert will feature violinist Brynn Albanese of Café Musique fame as well as Arab percussionist Keeth CrowHawk. The concert also features Vivace from the Central Coast Youth Chorus, directed by Melody Svennungsen.
