COMEDY, CABARET, AND COFFEE TALK with RYAN G. HINDS LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
FRIDAY, MARCH 22nd - 9pm
COMEDY, CABARET, AND COFFEE TALK with RYAN G. HINDS
featuring CHRIS TSUJUICHI, RED HERRING, and MC JAZZ

Award-winning performance artist Ryan G. Hinds' monthly cabaret/chat show returns for March.  Dishing everything under the sun and taking no prisoners, The Grid says: "Hinds is hilarious; makes a great case for the lost art of cabaret in Toronto. His show made me giddy!" (Paul Livingston- Aguirre). Expect a little bit of everything: music, gossip, stiff drinks, and fabulous guests. This month, Hinds welcomes:

Chris Tsujiuchi was recently dubbed "Toronto's Newest Cabaret Sensation"  by Xtra!  His annual "Chris-terical Cabar-gay" sells out Buddies in Bad Times every Christmas, and he's graced many stages including Factory Theatre, Tiff Bell Lightbox, and here at the Flying Beaver.   Chris has accompanied artists like Sharron Matthews, with whom he appeared on Seth Rudetsky's Sirius XM radio show, and last year celebrated the release of his debut cd.  A Graduate of Sheridan college's Musical theatre program, he has since music-directed productions such as "Rocky Horror Show" (for Lower Ossington Theatre), the Canadian premiere of the musical "Bare" and most recently "Hair" for First Act Productions.  Currently in rehearsal for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,  he guarantees you a good time.

Red Herring is one of the leading ladies of Toronto's Burlesque scene.  She is the host of The Rivoli's monthly night "Reveal Me", and is a mainstay of the Toronto Burlesque festival.  Known for her creative use of costumes, her burlesque acts have taken her as far afield as Boston, Ottawa, Stratford, and Carolina. Red Herring is also an actor and has been seen on Bomb Girls, Degrassi, and on the tv in  Dragon's Den, Naked News, Love Incorporated, and ET Canada.

MC Jazz is an anti-swagger, political queer Egyptian rapper & poet, who makes you move while you groove to truth. On her first EP (The Queer Hip-Hop Movement), MC Jazz's lyrics smash the social, sexual and political limitations of today's Hip-hop. She creates strong messages and promotes inclusive music that speaks for those without a voice. She attacks and tears down stereotypes of "who and what we should be" with a vengeance and brings back the real purpose of the spoken word in Hip-hop. After war, and experiencing daily prejudice based on being the "immigrant", rap and spoken word became MC Jazz's most powerful outlet and means of activism.

The vivacious and salacious Hinds is an award-winning singer, dancer, actor, and writer. He has written the Toronto at Night column in Xtra! for 3 years and recently  recieved strong recies for his performance as Greta in "Bent"  at Hart House.  Ryan has created critically acclaimed work for Pride, Nuit Blanche, and Summerworks, and has performed sold-out cabaret events in Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Los Angeles, and New York City. He has shared stages and screens with Liza Minnelli, Douglas Coupland, Sky Gilbert, The Scandelles, Debbie Reynolds, and many more. More info at RyanGHinds.ca
