Filmmaker Symposium Presented by Women of Warner Bros
For a second year, WOW is partnering with the Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival to present the Filmmaker Symposium as part of the festival. This year's symposium will be held this Saturday, March 23 from 9am 4:30pm at the W Hotel in Westwood. The symposium will feature panel discussions with current filmmakers and industry leaders on key topics in filmmaking today.
Here's the 2013 Filmmaker Symposium schedule:
9:00am 10:30am Crowdfunding: Financing your Film
"Crowdfunding" is a new approach to financing film projects by fundraising donations from the public. Entertainment attorney Akua Boyenne will discuss financing independent films through online sites such as Kickstarter as well as other crowdfunding strategies.
11:00am 12:00pm Your Vibrant Heart: Recognizing & Preventing Heart Disease in Women
Sponsored in cooperation with 2013 festival partner the American Heart Association, this forum will focus on heart health topics for women and will be led by cardiologist Cynthia Thaik, M.D.
1:00pm 2:30pmWomen in Film: What You and a Public Service Announcement Can Do
Come learn how the Women In Film Public Service Announcement Program leads to POSITIVE STRONG ACTIONS for your career and the community.
3:00pm 4:30pmHollywood 101
What makes up the business of Show Business? Join Chase Bartel of the Warner Bros. Writer's Workshop as she maps the in's and out's of who-does-what in Hollywood.
