Early Music Voices: Monteverdi Vespers of 1610
Pre-concert talk at 7pm.

This will be an evening of choral, solo and instrumental music one rarely gets the opportunity to hear. From music for vocal soloist with theorbo (a large member of the lute family) to full choir and string ensemble, the range and depth of this music is amazing. This concert will show that there was never only one way to perform music in 17th-century Italy. Our Vespers music from 1610 at Christ Church Elbow Park will be intimate, using solo voices, strings, a small choir and a varied continuo section.
