Music on Main Street: Garland Jeffreys at the Indian Lake Theater!
Garland Jeffreys LIVE at the Indian Lake Theater!
He's back and better than ever! The indian Lake Theater is proud to bring the remarkable Garland Jeffreys back to our stage on Friday, August 3 at 7:30 pm.
Garland Jeffreys traverses the musical genres of rock and roll, reggae, blues and soul. A leader in American roots music, Garland's songs explore the issues and concerns that impact his New York neighborhood and are universal to communities everywhere. From his 1973 classic hit "Wild in the Streets" to his recent, critically acclaimed album "14 Steps to Harlem", Garland is a musical force of nature!
Garland is known for his high energy performances and his ability to connect with his audiences. A contemporary of Lou Reed's, Garland has influenced everyone from Bob Marley to Bruce Springsteen. He had the crowd dancing in the aisles last year and we know you'll enjoy him as much as we do!
This year, Garland was recognized by Yale University's Oral History of American Music Archives as one of the most important voices in American Music. We would have to agree!
The Indian Lake Theater, located at 13 W. Main St. in Indian Lake, NY is a restored 1930s movie house that serves as the community screen and stage for the south central Adirondacks.
Tickets for the show are $22 advance sale or $25 at the door.
