Scandinavia: Songs of the Sea
Ancora is a women's choir based in Seattle, Washington, under the direction of Dr. Jerome Wright and Tess Orozco. They will present choral works from various Nordic countries. Ancora will showcase a suite of four Finnish pieces, entitled Lauluja Merelt (Songs from the Sea), and will include other Finnish works, such as Finlandia and Vesi Vsyy Lumen Alle (Water Under Snow is Weary), a piece based on the Kalevala tune. Other featured selections originate from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Estonia.
