Larry Mitchell in Concert with Howard Emerson
The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts and Long Island Guitar Repair LLC present
on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 8:ooPM
Doors open at 7:30

Larry Mitchell is a Grammy award-winning producer, engineer and performer who has toured the world playing guitar with well-known artists including Tracy Chapman, Billy Squier, Ric Ocasek and Miguel Bosé. In his original compositions, Larry skillfully weaves guitar textures that showcase his virtuosity as a solo artist and ensemble player.

As an artist, he has released 8 solo records and won a San Diego Music Award for best pop jazz artist. Larry is currently touring, promoting his 2018 release Deja Vu.

As a producer-engineer, Larry has won 26 New Mexico Music Awards in various categories from pop, adult contemporary, rap, rock, country and Native American.
Guitarist/Songwriter/Singer (in that order, please!) Howard Emerson has opened for Chris Smither, Dion, David Bromberg, Eric Andersen (whom he also recorded an album and toured with), John Hammond Jr., Dan Hicks, Jimmy Vivino, Johnny Johnson, Asleep at the Wheel, and many others. You may also know him as a former member of Billy Joels band - Howard can be heard on Billys 1976 release Turnstiles.

Veteran guitar journalist Andy Ellis said this about Howards lastest release The Wall Talks: To play with the kind of relaxed, sure-footed swing and gorgeous tone that permeates The Wall Talks, it takes a lifetime of dedication to guitar. Howard Emerson has made this journey, and you can hear it in every note. His acoustic fingerpicking is sublime, as is his buttery, singing electric slide. Great music from a 6-string master whose skills continue to deepen over time.
