The Story of Niles: The Afternoon Carriage House Salon continues!
Michael Bonham, from the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum will be our guest speaker.  The Story of Niles is the story of what might have been, of how the Bay Area could have become the film capital of the world. But before Niles, the case could be made that the Bay Area was the birthplace of the motion picture.

On Sunday, June 17th at 4:00pm Michael will talk about the museum and how it is more than a repository of photographs, posters, books and artifacts, how it is a resource for all facets of silent filmmaking, from their planning and production to their presentation. He'll tell us about how Charlie Chaplin and Bronco Billy Anderson saw themselves and their contemporaries on the screen in the early years. The museum keeps the spirit of silent films alive. Michael will share the history made early on, creating the studio that would be home for the pioneers of film making.  Following the lecture and PowerPoint presentation you will be able to ask Michael questions and then continue the discussion in the Dining Room at a hors d'oeuvres and champagne reception.

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon and support the Pardee Home Museum with a $25 per person contribution.  Space is limited so make your reservations early!
