Whats Going On? Marvins Music Lives On!
The Tedrock Fund, Inc. presents "What's Going On? Marvin's Music Lives On!" at the Rockwell Theater in Davis Square, Somerville on June 17th, 7 PM.
At a time when we could all use some inspiration, the songs of Marvin Gaye continue to deliver messages of hope and resilience. Join us for this special night of music delivered by a 15 piece rock ensemble who will perform songs from Marvin's playbook followed by a performance of the full album "What's Going On".
In keeping with the Tedrock Fund's mission to provide music education to under-served children, proceeds from the show will support the Community Music Center of Boston. This organization has been reaching out to city classrooms for over 40 years, helping to make music an influential part of every childs education. Many Boston Public Schools do not have Music Educators as a part of their regular staff. This is where the Music Center steps in. Their partnership with the Boston Public Schools allows them to provide hands-on music and performing arts instruction to more than 5,000 students each week, ranging from Pre-K to high school. They provide high-quality music instruction and arts participation opportunities citywide, and provide schools with the capacity-building activities they need to ensure that programs can be successfully administered and sustained.
