Nova Vocal Ensemble presents She Speaks
Concert of contemporary choral works celebrating women in choral music, including works by Amy Gordon, Alice Dryden, Dylan Carlson, and Saunder Choi.
Amy Gordon and Alice Dryden wrote the music to She Speaks, a world premiere commission with words by Sharon Goldstein. She Speaks considers the journey of women in America and features four soloists as well as Nova's a cappella choir.
Saunder Choi's A New Magnificat uses a sermon by Pastor Stephanie Jaeger as a condemnation of the injustices all Americans, especially women, face in contemporary American culture.
Dylan Carlson's The Cloud is a colorful setting of a Sara Teasdale poem.
