The Moody Street String Band is named after the location of Artisan Violins (99 Moody Street) where the group got its start in the mid 1990s under the direction of multi-instrumentalist Jerry Weene. in the intervening years, they have evolved into one of the regions favorite Celtic ensembles (their Christmas holiday performances at Gore Place regularly sellout). The band combine fiddle, accordion, banjo, mandolin, guitars and bass to make a big, fun, dance-able sound!
