The Mia Brazilian Jazz Ensemble
Mia and her top notch ensemble of jazz and Brazilian musicians perform selections from her upcoming CD "Brazilian Dreams". Mia's warm voice and soulful singing have found a perfect match in Brazilian jazz, with its rich harmonies,  grooving rhythms, wordless melodies, and delicious opportunities for vocal improvisation. She is joined by master jazz and Brazilian musicians Matt King on piano, Paul Meyers on guitar, Leo Traversa on bass, Anton Denner on reeds and flutes and percussion master Rogerio Boccato. Come and let Mia's voice take you on a journey through this beautiful music and be transformed.

Mia was inspired to sing jazz by artists who use their voice as instruments. When she first heard Bobby McFerrin sing, she felt a playful and adventuresome improviser lived in her as well. Study Jay Clayton, Janet Lawson and Rhiannon and Bobby gave her the tools to take the stage as an improvising jazz vocalist. Her love of Brazilian music led to study with Brazilian master vocalist Luciana Souza. Mia has found the perfect match for her warm voice and soulful singing in Brazilian jazz, bringing beauty,  improvisation and earthy groove together in perfect harmony.

Mia has performed or recorded with Jon Davis, Matt King, Randy Halberstadt, Roberta Piket, Diane Moser, Donny McCaslin, Frank London, Anton Denner, Pamela Fleming, Paul Meyers, Ratzo Harris, Nikki Parrot, David Darling, Tim Horner, Nanny Assis, Rogerio Boccato and Cafe.

"Every note Mia sings is infectious with her passion for Brazilian music." Matt King

"Its about time were hearing from Mia, a beautiful singer!" Jay Clayton

"Mia's beautiful voice and exciting improvisation speak to the soul of all of us. She sings from the heart."        Janet Lawson
