Tourists
Tourists is a full-length documentary film assembled from amateur video materials recorded by participants of sightseeing tours. Through the lens of the amateur camera, we watch the collective rituals of contemporary tourists, for whom filming becomes an instrument of cognition and the essence of travel. The filmed world takes on masks, graces the camera, stands on its head and demands payment.When traveling through exotic countries, we discover the image of our civilization. A contemporary conquest - a constant march of tourists acquiring the world with a digital camera - shows the exhaustion of the current travel formula, which in the price includes crafted experience, when real conquerors and unknown natives have long since extinct.
