Zion Rodman's soulful rock holds down this eclectic but fantastic line up tonight at the Lizard. Joining him will be the rollicking string band HIGH STRUNG REUNION and the emotive piano rock of Sarah Eide. All in all a really great night of music you won't want to miss!
ZION RODMAN: "Buttery bass-driven bumpers topped by a smoothly crooning voice, Zion's songs go down like sweet barrel-aged bourbon." Zion Rodman established himself as a soulful folk-rock musician in Boston. While he lived in New England, he performed at historic venues like Club Passim and Caffe Lena, and shared the stage with Ellis Paul and Jeffrey Gaines. Zion is currently based in Chicago, where he released his new EP Did Not Wake up Today.
SARAH EIDE: In an industry that can often feel oversaturated with stale soundscapes, lifeless lyrics, and predictable patterns, Sarah Eides music cuts through the clutter. Drawing comparisons to iconic contemporary pianists such as Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Ben Folds, Eides music is equally thoughtful, quirky, intentional, and honest. Intricate piano riffs with a rocknroll hustle and intellectually satisfying arrangements accompany songs that have a steadfast, empowering vibe along with sweet approach-ability.
HIGH STRUNG REUNION: These six guys can fill the room with traditional tunes and arrangements, or stretch into more contemporary newgrass. Featuring multiple lead singers, loads of vocal blends and foot-stomping rhythm, an evening with High Strung Reunion is a fun night. Together for 4 years, the band plays regularly at the Cantab Lounge in Central Square and has showcased at bluegrass festivals around New England.
