The Lisa Sanders Band Returns to The GO!
The Lisa Sanders Band was part of The GO's inaugural concert season, and we are very happy to have them back to help celebrate our 3rd Anniversary, along with fellow GO alumna, Gaby Aparicio as Special Guest!
Lisa Sanders is an electrifying harmonizer. Her heartfelt songs are genuine with deep meaning and conviction. A musical style that can only be described as a soulful country blues, her genres include folk pop, gospel, rock and jazz. Writing, singing and producing from her heart in nearly every genre for over three decades, Sanders continues to make an impact in the musical world.
Sanders has worked with musical legends including the Truckee Brothers, Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Rait, Al Green, BB King and Babyface. Sanders continues to songwrite, produce and collaborate with artists from all over. She currently resides in San Diego as the founder of Star Woodwork by Lisa, which specializes in handcrafted wooden materials into beautiful objects, structures and garden pieces.
Joining Lisa as a duo and in her Band is Karen "Brown Sugar" Hayes -- producing a pair of electrifying, bodacious, harmonizing singers of genuine heartfelt songs. This country-bluesy duo have been performing their unique style of music for over ten years to enthusiastic fans across America. With harmonizing skills that have garnered the duo many accolades and opening spots with artist such as Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, BB King, Al Green and many more.
Lisa and Karen's friendship began long ago when they met at a high school party. Later on in life, both older and much wiser, the women met again when their kids were in the same class at school. They became the best of friends. Neither one of them realized that one day they would be a couple of moms writing and performing music all across the country.
