Lena Seikaly and Steve Herberman: Music in the Gallery Concert & Reception
Lena Seikaly has been heralded by the Washington Post as "one of Washingtons preeminent jazz singers... and brightest voices in jazz" -- and described by Dr. John Hasse, Duke Ellington's biographer, as "a major league young talent in jazz.
Join us for a delightful one-hour concert of jazz vocals and guitar in Ulrika Leander's glorious tapestry gallery -- featuring Lena Seikaly, singer extraordinaire and Steve Herberman on guitar -- followed by a wine and cheese reception.
Celebrating their new recording, "A Little Closer," Lena and Steve will share their respective repertoires of 1920s and '30s favorites through the hard bop and Bossa Nova eras. Lena has been featured at the Monty Alexander Jazz Festival and at previous Carpe Diem's concerts. Invited back by popular demand!
