Mhembero yeShamwari (Celebration of Friends)
Mawungira Enharira brings its rousing performance to Seattle May 10 with a special performance honoring the bonds they formed with some of the members of Ruzivo and Anzanga during tours to Zimbabwe. Ruzivo and Anzanga open the show with marimba, then Mawungira closes the night with their energetic blend of mbira music. The venue, as close as we could get to the intimacy of the famed Book Caf in Harare, their home for their acclaimed Friday night gigs, captures the full spectrum of Mawungiras vibrant mbira grooves.
