Egadz, a Californian native, got his musical start as a battle
DJ/turntablist in San Diego during the mid-nineties. In 2002 Monotony,
his solo production debut was released on Monotonous records which he
founded with local rapper and partner Ellis Bancroft. Egadz continued
to release albums that received world-wide acclaim and landed his
songs in a myriad of video's and programs such as 411 video magazine
and Fuel TV. His emotionally charged hard-hitting productions and
polished live sets transgress genre-lines, painting sonic pictures in
his distinctive electronic fashion. This true D.I.Y artist handles
everything from licensing to bookings. With 3 solid full length's
under his belt, and a side project called "KidWithoutRadio",
new-comers to Egadz, have some catching up to do to prepare for some
promising projects on the horizon. In the spring of 08', Egadz will

DJ Egadz's brand of electronica is elusive and so akin to Aphex Twin. The California native doesn't eclipse dude, but he does put forth an equally atypical and awesome sound. "Grim Advantage Pt. 1," the first cut on Egadz's 2005 Monotonous release, Sad Music Makes Me Happy, begins with complex keys (think Tetris theme) that accelerate into a recurrent drum-break that expands as fast as it contracts. Cymbals supplement this state of confusion until they, along with the drums, are suspended for simple keys to crawl across the chorus. DJ Egadz is set to release a project with rapper Rehab Hymn and another solo instrumental album by the end of the year.
