Lux Perpetua
Westchester Oratorio Society, Benjamin Niemczyk Artistic Director, celebrates its 20th Anniversary Season on Sunday afternoon May 6 with a performance entitled Lux Perpetua at Bedford Presbyterian Church. The concert opens with the renowned organist Anthony Newman performing Bachs Cantata No.29 and two choruses from his original choral work Te Deum on the Churchs magnificent Pasi Opus 13 pipe organ. The performance also features the iconic Mozart Requiem performed in memory of Karen Spallina, a member of the WOS extended family.

Described by Wynton Marsalis as "The High Priest of Bach," Anthony Newman has maintained a 40-year career as America's leading organist, harpsichordist and Bach specialist. A prodigious composer, his works have been heard in Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, New York and London.

For the Requiem, the chorus will be accompanied by the WOS Festival Orchestra. Soloists are Miriam Frances Stoner, Soprano, Mary Stech, Alto, Philip Anderson, Tenor and Benjamin Bloomfield, Bass.

The concert begins at 3 pm. Bedford Presbyterian Church is located at 44 Village Green, Bedford, NY. Tickets are $25 general, $40 preferred and $15 student in advance ($30/50/20 at the door.)  For more information email westchesteroratorio@gmail.com. Tickets are available on the groups website, www.westchesteroratorio.org.
