Bastien und Bastienne a comic opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Enjoy a beautiful evening of wine and song at the charming Europa Village Winery in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. Bastien und Bastienne was the first opera a very, young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote. This comic, pastoral opera has a 1 hour running time and is full of comedic twist, romantic turns as the young shepherd, Bastien (Jonathon Tran) and his friend, the shepherdess, Bastienne (Sacha Peiser), try to find the way to true love through the local soothsayer and village wizard, Colas (Arthur Wilson).
As a special treat, there will be a pre-show of arias from The Magic Flute, also written by Mozart, and perhaps, his most well-known opera. Bastien und Bastienne is sung in German but english translation will be provided via AV projection.
Wine tasting is available from 6-7pm. Wine can be purchased on-site or a wine tastings can be included as part of your ticket. There will be a 15 minute intermission.
