The Love Burn and O, Miami Poetry Festival invite art enthusiasts to join in celebration of interactive art, poetry, and music for a beach side event at Historic Virginia Key Beach in Miami on Saturday, April 28th. BYOB.
Fun, fabulous 1-day Burning Man regional event extension will culminate with a fireworks show, celebration of fire dancers and lighting of a 30 foot wooden globe and hands of love sculpture. Fire performers and fireworks celebration begin after sunset. Participants are invited to write poems and share them from the tiki stage hosted by O, Miami.
Love Burn is an official regional Burning Man event held annually in South Florida. The effigies remained standing after the annual event due to high winds. We hope for a beautiful day to celebrate and burn these structures. There will be NO camping.
O, Miami is a community-based festival. We like to say it's a "Miami" festival first and a "poetry" festival second because the poetry is simply the means by which we celebrate our home.
ADMISSION for this 1-day event is $35, youth 13-17 are $10, kids 12 and under free. Everyone under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
PARKING paid on day of event at venue is $15 per vehicle which goes straight to the park for the environmental preservation and sea turtle nesting habitat. Please carpool.
Admission will go directly to cover the event costs which include permit, fire department, police, fire ignition specialist, and event costs. Any proceeds over costs will go to support next year's art grants. Please make an additional donation to help support art and event costs.
The Historic Virginia Key Beach Park opens at sunrise. The Love Burn with O, Miami celebration with fire performers, fireworks and the burning of the Wooden Globe and Hands of Love begin at sunset.
