Derrick C. Brown Book Release Party: Bards, Beers and Babes!
Derrick C. Brown's official release party for his new book of poetry Hello. It Doesnt Matter.

This event will feature Derrick, as well Gentlemen Bosses tour headliner Cristin OKeefe Aptowicz, Jacqueline Suskin, and sharer of a great name: poet Derek D. Brown.

Musical guests Cardioid and Jimmy Von Eps will also perform.

This event includes a complimentary beer tasting / home brewers competition, featuring five home brewers competing for the title Sud Master Supreme. Also, there will probably be a dance party. Just because.

Derrick C. Brown is a comedian, poet and storyteller. He is the winner of the 2013 Texas Book of The Year award for Poetry. The New York Times calls his work, a rekindling of faith in the weird, hilarious, shocking, beautiful power of words. Brown has toured with comedians and musicians such as Eugene Mirman, David Cross, Rival Sons, and Cold War Kids.

Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz is the author of seven books of poetry. Most recently, she released her nonfiction book, Dr. Mütter's Marvels: A True Tale of Intrigue and Innovation at the Dawn of Modern Medicine, which spent three months on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Jacqueline Suskin is a writer and performance poet based in Los Angeles. She is the author of two books, the latest entitled Go Ahead & Like It available from Ten Speed Press. Known for her multidisciplinary work with a project she calls Poem Store, Suskin composes improvisational poetry for patrons who choose both a topic and a price in exchange for a unique verse.

Derek D. Brown is an author, poet, and performance expressionist based in Los Angeles. His premiere collection of poems entitled Articulate Scars: Comfortable Silences and Reluctant Tears, was met with wide acclaim from poetry virgins and seasoned wordsmiths alike.
Hes a highly coveted featured attraction throughout Southern California, whose mix of humor and truth in punchy poems has deeply embedded him in the fabric of the poetry scene.

Cardioid has been a concept in Lizzy Ellison's mind for years, although it wasn't fully realized until the summer of 2016. The project is a focus on listening to our own creative selves, removing ego, and allowing what is inside to flourish.

Jimmy Von Eps is a musician based in California.
