Featuring a retrospective of the New York downtown scene, with rarely performed works by Meredith Monk, David Lang, Julius Eastman, and a UK premiere of John Morans Little Retarded Boy with guest dancer.
Also featured are two young composers based in Manchester; A new commission from Vitalija Glovacktye, working with lo-fi electronics and lights, and a performance of John Uren's Her own dying moments, based on a letter written after the death of David Bowie.

Phaedra ensemble was formed in 2014 by violinist Phillip Granell and Composer Jamie Hamilton to perform new music with a particular focus on cross genre collaboration. Recent performances include Kings Place, The Barbican, The Southbank centre, Cafe OTO and a residency at NYU Abu Dhabi with Susheela Raman, as well as broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, Here and Now and Resonance FM.
