Chiara Berardelli's Seamonster album launch
Chiara Berardelli is an Italian Scottish singer/songwriter living in Glasgow. A lover of words, chords and honesty, she writes about life and how it affects her. Seamonster is her most personal project to date, inspired by her sadness at not becoming a mother. The ten tracks depict a journey from the crashing realisation that something so longed for has gone for ever in the title track, Seamonster, to the tentative beginnings of new found joy in the song Somewhere New. Chiara will be accompanied by a full band, with Biff Smith's gentle harmonies and Jackie Baxter's emotive cello playing creating a warm, melodic soundscape.
'Berardelli's willingness to be so open about such a personal struggle lends her music a uniqueness that is rare' Atwood Magazine
And of Deep Space Hibernation, the album's lead single.. '...the track boasts sublime and elegant orchestration, rich imagery, Chiara's hushed vocals and tiny subtle hints of psychedelica that recall early Bowie and The Flaming Lips'. Belwood Music
