Here's the lineup for Saturday, March 17:

MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents:
HELENE SMART in "THINGS ARE LOOKING UP"

Helene celebrates the chance to explore old songs in new ways, new songs in old ways, and whatever happens in between. Join her for show tunes, country, contemporary, American songbook, and a carefully crafted evening of fine lyrics and memorable melodies.

ABOUT HELENE SMART

Helene's fascination with the art of cabaret began when she discovered it was the perfect combination of her love of words and of music.  In constant pursuit of yet another songwriting gem, Helene has studied with some of the great practitioners of the craft including Andrea Marcovicci and Karen Mason and has been privileged to perform with Shelly Markham, Stan Keen and Darin Clendenin as music directors. Helene's one-woman shows have been seen at the Gardenia in L.A., The Manor House on Bainbridge Island, the Admiral Theater in Bremerton, and, in Seattle, at the RUINS and The University Club.

MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents:
BENN BACOT in "THE BASS OF THE BAY PRESENTS AN EVENING OF AMERICAN SONG!"

Join the Bass of The SF Bay as he explores the many facets of the American Songbook. From the swinging jazz of the 1920s to the Reefer Madness of the 30s to the sophisticated swing and love ballads of the 40s & 50s, it's an evening of showstoppers and surprises.

ABOUT BENN BACOT

With a voice reminiscent of Billy Eckstine, a little Joe Williams and a dash of Nat King Cole, Benn - affectionately known as "The Bass of the Bay" - is one of San Francisco's hidden treasures, seen throughout the Bay Area in San Jose, Redwood City, and Oakland at events as varied as Larkin Street Moon Festival, Jewish Home, Piano Fights, Cadillac Hotel, Angelica's Bell Theatre, and most recently with JB Productions' Holiday Big Band Bash at the Great American Music Hall. Bacot continues the legacy of the Great American Jazz singer, continuing to blaze the trail with a voice seldom heard today but instantly enjoyed!

MARCH IS CABARET MONTH PRESENTS:
LINDA KOSUT in "FAVORITES FROM THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK"

Linda's choice of jazz, pop and folk material from the American Songbook shows her innate skill as a storyteller. "[Linda] brings her skills as an actress to her insightful interpretations of songs." - Don Heckman, The International Review of Music

ABOUT LINDA KOSUT

Award-winning cabaret/jazz singer Linda Kosut sings the standard with a fresh look and makes the obscure seem like a standard. She performs nationally from San Francisco to NY to LA to Seattle, and also works as a singer's coach teaching performance technique. Linda's newest release "Easy Come Easy Go: The Music of Johnny Green" received rave reviews ("Wonderfully winsome" - Doug Boynton, GirlSingers). Her first two CDs, "Life Is But A Dream" and "Long As You're Living", received national acclaim. Linda lives in San Francisco with her husband, two dogs, two turtles, two chickens and thousands of freshwater fish!
