INTEREST RATES STINK! NOW WHAT?
Interest rates are at historic lows. What's an investor to do? We'll discuss options for optimizing your savings and your fixed-income investments. However, we'll stress the need to avoid being a "yield pig," and provide some cautionary tales (ARS, CDOs) that prove that yield pigs get slaughtered.
Lynda Livingston is the Nat S. and Marian W. Rogers Professor at the University of Puget Sound, where she has taught financial markets, investments, corporate finance, and personal finance since 1997. She has a BA in history from the University of Texas at Austin, an MS in finance from Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Washington. She is the founder of Four Horsemen Investments, a not-for-profit Washington corporation focusing on financial literacy.
