ARC Orchestra: Sibelius & Tchaikovsky
Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony moves from velvety and smooth to turbulent and breathless. The ARC orchestra will present the last of his symphonies at our last performance of the Spring semester.
Included in the program is Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor, considered one of the greatest concertos written for the violin. Our soloist, Irina Samarina will play a piece Donald Tovey described by saying, "I have not met a more original, a more masterly, and a more exhilarating work than the Sibelius violin concerto."
