Cape Breton fiddler Andrea Beaton, one of the most accomplished and well known fiddlers from the newest crop of Cape Breton musicians, is coming to California in March 2013, and is making a stop in Los Angeles. She will be joined by her mother, Betty Lou Beaton, a staple of the Cape Breton music scene.
Andrea and Betty Lou will be giving a private house concert on Sunday, March 10, 2013

Andrea's lively Cape Breton music is characterized by her powerful bow, the drive and swing of her timing and the crispness of her attack. Andrea is in demand at music camps, dances and concerts across the United States and Canada and has won a number East Coast Music Awards for her traditional Cape Breton fiddle recordings. Listening to Andrea's music is overwhelmingly uplifting, and she delights audiences wherever she plays.
Betty Lou Beaton is in demand as a Cape Breton style piano accompanist and solo player. Betty Lou's family is steeped in the Cape Breton music tradition: her brother Buddy MacMaster is one of the most beloved fiddle players on Cape Breton and her niece Natalie MacMaster is known world-wide for her fiddle playing. Betty Lou plays for dances in Cape Breton year round and has played piano on numerous Cape Breton recordings.
