The Beanstalk Library / Taylor Carson / Special Guest
In celebration of his 5th studio effort, "With Innocence" (May 2013) Taylor Carson is giving back. 2013 opened with the release of his first live recording in partnership with CauseTown - a non-profit organization empowering retailers to donate proceeds to charities chosen by their patrons. Taylor is donating 25% of all sales in his online store through the launch of the new record. Taylor is a seasoned veteran with the energy of a debuting artist. His last album won an Independent Music Award and earned him touring selections with Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers, Edwin McCain and Virginia Coalition. "With Innocence" captures the childlike wonder and optimism that dreams are made of and finds, with insightful observation, the good in the world around us. http://www.taylorcarson.com/
Ryan Walker is the constant songwriter behind the Washington, DC-based band The Beanstalk Library. On their acclaimed local debut AMERICA AT NIGHT, as well as on more recent internet-released recordings, the band has explored classic pop and roots influences and welcomed contributions from other notable DC musicians, including members of Exit Clov and These United States. Their new full-length album will be released in 2013. The Beanstalk Library has built a loyal following, playing regular shows at DC venues such as Black Cat, Iota, Jammin' Java, and Rock and Roll Hotel, and sharing bills with, among others, Field Music, Jukebox The Ghost, Modern Skirts, Tapes n' Tapes, Retribution Gospel Choir, Cloud Cult, Cotton Jones, Jenny Owen Youngs, Sera Cahoone, and Illinois. http://www.thebeanstalklibrary.com/
Our 2/13 show will also feature a secret special guest--we won't be announcing who it is until the morning of the show--but we CAN tell you they're from Michigan, and their music has received glowing reviews from Rolling Stone and NPR. Don't miss it!
