Volti closes its 39th season of singing without a net with a concert featuring two premieres and other unusual contemporary vocal music, all by composers with strong Bay Area ties.
We'll premiere a playful, improvisatory work by Danny Clay, this year's winner of our young-composer competition, and also a piece by Zibuokle Martinaityte, a Lithuanian-American composer who creates beautiful soundscapes.
We'll also reprise a recent commission from Berkeley's Robin Estrada, and fill out the program with pieces from Terry Riley and Henry Cowell.
The program will repeat Sunday May 6, 2018, at 4 PM at the Berkeley Art Museum / Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA). Concert included with museum admission; tickets at the door only. Come early and enjoy the "Way Bay" exhibit of Bay Area artists.
