MARIN BAROQUE A Legacy - Buxtehude & Bach
Join the Marin Baroque Chamber Choir and period instrument Orchestra for an evening of the exquisite music of J.S. Bach, his teacher, Dieterich Buxtehude, and another student of Buxtehude's George Telemann.
The repertoire includes the Bach Cantata BMV 131, Aus der Tiefe rufe ich, Buxtehude WV 41, Herzlich lieb hab ich, Buxtehude WV51, Ihr lieben Christen, freut euch nun, and instrumental selections from the Telemann Overture (Suite) in D major.
The 12 piece Baroque orchestra and 19 singer Choir will present this wondrous music in the historic St. Vincent's Chapel, the perfect setting. The sun will set as the concert unfolds, creating marvelous light through the many stained glass windows in the Chapel. The concert will be lit partially by candles at the marble alter.
A reception for all immediately follows the concert.
