Arnold Police Officer Ryan O'Connor Fundraiser
On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, while on duty for the city of Arnold, Police Officer Ryan O'Connor was shot in the back of the head by a burglary suspect who was being transported to the Arnold Police Station. Officer O'Connor was rushed to St. Anthony's Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Officer Ryan is 44 years old and has been with the Arnold Police Department for almost 3 years. Prior to working in Arnold, Officer O'Connor has also worked with St. Louis County and the Ferguson Police Departments. He is currently in critical but stable condition and has a long road to recovery ahead of him.  It is well known in the city of Arnold that the citizens support their police force and will come together to make sure that the needs of Officer Ryan are addressed.

The Arnold Food Pantry, along with the City of Arnold and the Fox C-6 School District, are pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor a fundraiser for Officer O'Connor and his family. This event will be held at Rickman Auditorium, on the Fox C-6 campus, on Sunday, January 7, 2018. We encourage everyone to attend and support this officer who, while in the performance of his duty, put his life on the line while protecting the citizens of Arnold.

Tickets for the fundraiser may be purchased at the following locations/venues: 1.)Arnold Food Pantry and Thrift Store, 2024 Key West Dr., Arnold Mo. 63010  2.)The Arnold Recreation Center, 1695 Missouri State Road or 3.)Brown Paper Tickets


The fundraiser will feature two musical groups: BagLunch Blues Band and Butch Wax and the Hollywoods.

Baglunch Blues Band is well known for playing various venues such as wineries, fairs and festivals.They have also played at the Missouri River Regional Library Cultural Concert Series. This wonderful ensemble consists of Mike Edsel, Steve Lossos, Mike Spina and Howard Young. Their music is well known throughout the St. Louis area.

Butch Wax & The Hollywoods is an 8 piece band from St. Louis, MO.   Recently voted The #1 Band in Missouri - they have been performing at sold out events throughout the Midwest and United States for more than 30 years!  Butch Wax & The Hollywoods were the featured band for several years at the St. Louis Cardinals home openers and St. Louis Rams tailgate parties.  The band wrote and recorded the St. Louis Sports songs Gotta Go to Work; Lets Go Blues; and Pennant Fever and performed at the Rams Super Bowl Victory Parade in 2000!

Butch Wax & The Hollywoods are regular main stage performers at concerts, corporate events, fairs, festivals, wineries, and private parties, and continue to bring their good times and great oldies dance music to sold out crowds throughout the United States. Hear the classic songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s with hits from Rick Nelson, The Supremes, Johnny Rivers, Chuck Berry, Smokey Robinson, The Righteous Brothers, Martha & The Vandellas, Elvis, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Tina Turner, Three Dog Night, Al Green, Jackie Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Mitch Ryder, The Rascals, Sam & Dave, and more!

Butch Wax & The Hollywoods band members are Gene Ackmann - Keyboards & Vocals; Mark Kersten  Drums; John Vidacak  Guitar & Vocals; Chris Black  Bass Guitar & Vocals; Elliot Doc Simpson  Trumpet, Percussion, & Vocals; Sonny McGraw  Sax, Percussion, & Vocals; Tandra Williams  Vocals; Ermine Cannon - Vocals.  Frequent guest performers currently with the band and over the years include Theo Peoples from The Four Tops and Temptations; Billy Peek from Rod Stewart Band; Pat Liston from Mamas Pride, Steve Davis Memories of Elvis; and the late great Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Johnnie Johnson!  Sirius XM Radio Personality Pat St. John does the bands voice overs and intro tapes and has done that for the past 11 years.  One of great radio voices of all time!

Butch Wax & The Hollywoods have shared the stage over the years with Johnny Rivers, Chuck Berry, Johnnie Johnson, Lou Rawls, Darius Rucker, Michael McDonald, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Blake Shelton, The Guess Who, Theo Peoples, Billy Peek, The Rascals, The Association, The Lettermen, The Kentucky Headhunters, The Romantics, The Grassroots, Tammy Wynette, The Kingsmen, and many others.
