Brack n File at Edinburgh Folk Club / EFC
BRACKnFILE comprises Rick Nickerson, Maureen Brack and Tony Mitchell. They have an eclectic bag of songs with Rick's Canadian background leading them through a full programme of Joni Mitchell's songs at the Acoustic Music Centre during the recent Edinburgh Festival Fringe. With Maureen's versatile voice - that lass can sing anything and make you listen, and Tony Mitchell's ever-inventive and stylish guitar playing dropped into the mix at just the right time - this is going to be an evening of great music.
Rick and Tony both played in the almost eponymous and well-known Rankin File trio with Canadian singer and songwriter Ian Rankin in the 1970s. Tony, who is one of EFC's resident musicians, is very well-known both as a guitar teacher, guitarist and composer writing for solo guitar.
