New Year's Eve Bash with CCR Headcleaner, The World. Mane, DJ Paul Paul
The Hemlock's New Year's Eve Bash is guaranteed to be a whale of a dance-crazed doozy! CCR Headcleaner, The World and Mane -- three of the planet's hottest bands -- plus platter king, DJ Paul Paul (of Saturday Nite Soul Party)! Melt your face and socks off while gyrating to an array of mutant psych rock, propulsive post-punk dub, twisted avant goth pop, and dazzling jams, tunes and cuts. $13 adv., $15 door. Ticket includes champagne toast at midnight!

CCR HEADCLEANER
The members of CCR Headcleaner must be some kind of gutter mutants, spawned from the spores of an alternate-universe San Francisco psych scene thats less pop and more bong-ripped hedonism. CCR Headcleaner crafts a perfect swill of psychedelic noise, plastered punk and Fugs-y folk.  NPR

THE WORLD
The World are five people from Oakland, California who write rambunctious dance music with a post punk tool kit and an insightful yet short attention span. Their songs typically clock in around two minutes long and are a wild head-rush of Amber Sermenos funk-minded bass lines and shuddering dubbed-out guitar courtesy of Andy Jordan. Amber also sings alongside Elyse Schrock, who anchors their propulsive songs with some supremely robust drumming. The steady beat is bolstered by Stanley Martinezs flurrying saxophone melodies and Alexa Pantalones expansive bongo rhythms. Alexa also plays sax on half of the songs too, contributing further to the complex interplay of instruments that make The Worlds music so immediate, compelling and groove conscious.

MANE
Female-led post-punk/ goth band creating an atmosphere that lies somewhere between dread and wonder, with swirling vocal harmonies reminiscent of former Bay Area band Grass Widow, and a taste for dysphoric tenor that rivals Bauhaus.

DJ PAUL PAUL
of the legendary Saturday Nite Soul Party dance party and countless top shelf Bay Area bands such as Total Shutdown and Murder Murder.
